One thing I should say is that once you've made up the scrub use it straight away. I left mine in a tub for a couple of hours thinking I could go back to it (like I do with sugar scrubs) but it totally dried up and turned back into a powder so I had to add water to it again to get it back to the right consistency.
When I applied it to my face it felt quite light and foamy but there were still bits of powder in the solution that exfoliated my face once I started scrubbing. You're meant to scrub for around five minutes to get the full effects but I couldn't use it for longer than a minute as it was quite painful and started to sting my face, I could also taste the baking soda as I rinsed it off so make sure you rinse thoroughly!
In terms of appearance it didn't make a huge difference to my face, there was still a lot of discolouration and pigmentation, but my skin did feel a lot softer and smoother. I'll try doing it again but I won't rely on it or use it regulalry, I think I'll stick to my daily face scrubs!
Well I know I won't be trying this anytime soon. I'm a wuss when it comes to pain on my face. You should see me when I get my eye brows threaded I cry like a baby. It's a shame that this didn't work so well for you. I love DIY face products.
