Fun fitness events to try this summer

Something about the sunshine always makes me more motivated to exercise and I'm already getting guilty of panic using the gym in the knowledge my summer holiday is just around the corner. Luckily the good weather also wants me to take my workouts outside - and there are lots of fun events on in London throughout the UK if you want to try some fun exercise this summer...

The Color Run
You'll be having so much fun on this run you won't even think about the fact you're running 5k. There's a reason it's called The Happiest 5k on the Planet. Everyone is in high spirits as you get covered in a rainbow of colours along the way, followed b a Finish Festival past the finish line, with DJ's and MC's and giveaways as well as more dusting of colourful powders!
The Colour Run returns for the fifth year and this year has a dreamy theme; with a Cloud Foam Zone, unicorn mascots and new colour zones.

Events take place in London, Manchester and Brighton and is open to all ages. For information on how to sign up, visit

Karma Sanctum Yoga
What better way to follow up exercising than replenishing your body with a delicious brunch? Taking place at The Sanctum Soho Hotel each month, this yoga brunch club includes an hour's vinyasa flow yoga class with Katie Silver followed by a delicious rooftop unlimited brunch consisting of everything from fruit to pancakes to avocado. Best of all, you will also take home a lovely goodie bag with all sorts of fitness products inside!

I went along to the launch recently and realised how important it is for me to do more yoga and stretching - I have the stiffest body going thanks to all the running I do! The next events take place in June and July, book tickets at

Yoga Wheel Classes
The White Studio has just announced the launch of its flexibility yoga wheel - something I've never heard of before - and will be holding weekly classes in Bedford. For more information or bookings, visit

Rock Climbing
Ok, so if you live in London this one is a little bit more tricky to embrace in the great outdoors BUT there are so many indoor rock climbing centres which are great fun and an even better workout. Seymour Leisure Centre is right in the heart of London, in Marylebone, and is a Grade II listed building. Its climbing wall has routes to suites all abilities and there is a dedicated bouldering area.

They offer regular clubs and courses, group sessions and private tuition. For more information take a look at Everyone Active.
