Lush Sale Haul

Is it too early to talk about Lush-gate? If you took a break from social media (and the internet in general) over Christmas you may have missed that hundreds of thousands of people queued online to try and access Lush's sale on Boxing Day this year, resulting in lots of abusive tweets and Lush's customer care team working overdrive to try and respond to peoples' comments and questions about when their orders would be arriving. I decided to stay away from the madness and camp out on the sofa eating Ferrero Rochers instead. So I was pretty sure that the sale had come to an end completely, however, when I went into Basingstoke to meet up with a friend this week I was delighted to see they still had some sale products in store!

All of their Christmas stock was 50% off so I had a little spree and stocked up on some of my favourites!

December Favourites

December meant three things for my skin and hair; cold, dry and dull. This month was all about moisture and putting some glow back into my skin! Here are some of the products I've been loving this moth...

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist  - Much lighter than a hair mask, I can spritz this on to my hair and leave it overnight before washing off in the morning or spray some on to the ends of wet hair before blow drying as an extra conditioner.

Vichy Quenching Mineral Mask (£14) - A watery gel mask that provides relief for for dry and uncomfortable skin to leave it soft, hydrated a refreshed. Ideal for sensitive skin, this feels like a jar of pure water and calms my skin when it flares up from the cold weather and heating.

Origins Original Skin Retexturising Mask (£24) - A great all-rounder face mask to add to your cleansing routine, this mask contains rose clay and jojoba beads to deep clean while exfoliating and refining skin texture. It shrinks pores while adding a glow.

MooGoo Cleaning Oil  - After starting to use cleansing oil to remove makeup earlier this year I was really excited to discover the Australian skincare brand MooGoo as they create cleansing oils for all different skin types. It comes in a handy pump bottle making it far easier to transport and use on the go without any hassle or mess. It removes all traces of makeup without making skin greasy.

Clarins Everlasting + Foundation - I did a review of this foundation last year and recently repurchased it after my bottle ran out. Some long wear foundations can be cakey or drying but this helps to nourish skin so is ideal for winter weather.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Instant Skin Smoother - I only recently discovered this product at The Body Shop and I am in love with it! I use it as a makeup primer and it completely evens out my complexion and helps makeup to last longer.

Mai Couture Blush Paper - Mai Couture papers are portable blotting papers enhanced with makeup so you can top up and apply on the go. They have bronzing, foundation, highlighting and blush papers and it's as simple as tearing a sheet out and pressing it to your face! I love these handy little books of paper for topping up my makeup for events after work.

Is there a cost of keeping fit?

Fitness; is it a case of throwing an old pair of battered trainers and going for a run in your local park or squeezing in some sit-ups on your lounge floor at the start of the day? Or do you need to be dedicated to gym memberships, fitness classes and extensive training plans?

I'll be honest, in the last year my fitness has hit rock bottom. In recent months I have gone to a Barre class once a week and occasionally gone for a run once a fortnight or so. Before I moved to London I was used to having a gym membership and went to a mix of cardio and weight classes roughly three times a week, but since moving to London I haven't quite worked out what is the best financial investment for me.

Gym prices in London have sky rocketed (my nearest Virgin Active costs £120 a month) and some of the cheaper value gyms like The Gym group, Pure Gym and Anytime Fitness don't all offer classes. I'm very bad at motivating myself and, quite frankly, often get a bit overwhelmed and daunted staring at all the various machines in the gym and wondering what the hell they are for. I feel much more motivated to work out in a group and London has some amazing group fitness classes on offer, which can usually range from between £15 to £25 per class.

So this got me thinking, is there really a cost of keeping fit? Do most people commit to gym memberships and training sessions, or are they able to work out without spending a penny? I asked a group of fitness bloggers to share their thoughts...

Fake Bake Flawless Coconut Face and Body Serum

Coconut Oil became a much-loved multi-use product this year and I use my tub for pretty much everything from removing makeup to moisturising my body and healing split ends on my hair, so I thought it was genius when Fake Bake brought out a new self tanning serum made from coconut oil.

I'm a regular user of fake tan which unfortunately means my skin has been dried out no end and I constantly have the dreaded triangles inside my elbows. Luckily Fake Bake’s brand new Flawless Coconut Tanning Serum is packed full of nourishing coconut oil to moisturise as it tans. The serum is refreshing on the skin and and melts on contact - making it quick and easy to blend!

It delivers a golden glow which isn't sticky and dries pretty quickly on the skin so it is safe to dress afterwards and it won't rub off on bed sheets. In terms of the shade it says it is 'Medium' and it comes out a nice golden colour, however, I found that a lot of the colour did wash away in the shower. If you are looking for a more natural or lighter shade then this is ideal. I have tried out a few products from the Fake Bake range and this is by far my favourite.

Fake Bake Flawless Coconut Tanning Serum costs £29.95 and is available from Boots, Superdrug and most online beauty retailers.

Affordable Christmas Gift & Stocking Filler Guide

I've been enjoying lusting over fellow bloggers' Christmas gift guides recently and have finally rustled up the motivation to start doing some Christmas shopping of my own. I've managed to find some great value gift sets and stocking fillers which I have picked up for different members of my family. Here are some of my suggestions...

My favourite lipstick / lip liner combinations

As per usual I am pretty late to the beauty trends and I have only recently started wearing lip liner with my lipstick. I previously thought my mum was the only person who wore lip liner but, after the Kylie Jenner lip phenomenon, it seems pretty much every girl does. Lip liner is useful for adding definition to the lips and prevents lipstick from feathering. It can also double up as a matte lip colour too.

Most lipsticks now come with matching lip liner shades, but if not it is pretty easy to mix and match various shades and brands. Here are some of my current favourites...

Death by Chocolate Dipping Sauce

After National Chocolate Week last month, closely followed by National Chocolate Day, I was super excited when the lovely people at Thomas J Fudges continued the celebrations and asked me to create my very own 'Death by Chocolate' dipping sauce to accompany their delicious chocolate Florentines.

The milk chocolate florentines from the Dorset-based bakery are an amalgamation of nuts, chocolate, dried fruit and caramel. They are truly lavish and indulgent with a mixture of flavours so I wanted to create a rich sauce to complement it nicely.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Reloaded Collection

Rimmel has just introduced four new products to its 'Scandaleyes' eye range; a 'Reloaded' mascara in two shades and two 'Scandaleyes' liquid liners. Reloaded is said to be an extreme volume, long wear mascara that is easy to remove without leaving any traces behind, while the new liquid liners offer a 'Thick & Thin' and 'Micro' option.

I have always been a fan of Rimmel as a high-street makeup brand, particularly their eye and lip products, as they are reasonably priced while still providing reliable quality.

The 24-hour wear mascara is claimed to be sweat, smudge and humidity proof while providing 11 times more volume than the original version. For me the new max-density brush is definitely a plus. It is very thick and captures every lash while building up volume and definition. The colour is also a very intense black, which I always like as I have very fair lashes. While I am pleased with the results, I'd say the only negative is that the formula is quite wet so it does have a tendency to transfer on to the top of my eyes and lower lash line. That said, it did stay put throughout the day and was easy to remove. There are two shades available; Black and Extreme Black, and it costs £6.99.

The Scandaleyes liners (£5.49) are by far my favourite addition to the new collection and make applying eyeliner extremely quick and simple. The 'Thick and Thin' is a felt-tip pen style with a 3D slanted end that enables you to draw a thick or thin line depending on how you hold it. The 'Micro' pen has an ultra-thin tip that lets you draw precise lines to define your eyes. Again these were very long lasting and didn't budge during a long day or sweaty gym session.

Feeling festive - Rice Krispie Cakes with a Twist

The lead up to Christmas is always an exciting time as my house starts filling up with all sorts of snacks! To get into the festive mood, I was asked to get involved with Wren's Christmas Kitchen campaign to create a Christmas recipe with a unique twist! I decided to create some oh-so simple Rice Krispie cakes with a little festive flavouring and decoration.

I had actually seen a recipe of Pinterest to make some Rice Krispie Christmas Trees (which you can see here if you'd like to have a go!) but as my attempt didn't turn out quite to plan I fashioned them into normal Rice Krispie cakes with a festive twist by adding white chocolate, caramel flavouring and of course some Christmas decorations.

For this recipe I used:

  • White chocolate (200g)
  • Rice Krispies (200g)
  • Caramel Flavouring
  • Festive decorations
  • You can also experiment by using milk or dark chocolate with orange or hazelnut flavouring
Simply melt the chocolate, stir in the Rice Krispies, spoon into cake cases and leave to set in the fridge. Once cooled and the cakes have completely solidified, you can add icing and decorations!

To make them extra festive you can mould them into cone shapes and turn them into Christmas trees with green food dye, or add Christmas flavours like chocolate orange, hazelnut, gingerbread or toffee! Enjoy!

The Body Shop Fresh Nude Cushion Foundation

The Body Shop Fresh Nude Cushion Foundation

The Body Shop Fresh Nude Cushion Foundation

Cushion makeup seems to be everywhere at the moment - easy, portable compacts where the makeup is soaked into a cushion and applied with a sponge by pressing down on the cushion to save the hassle of separate bottles, brushes and mirrors. Loads of high end brands have jumped on the trend, which started in Korea, and I've even seen some start introducing cushion blushes. So I was especially excited when The Body Shop brought out their version of the cushion foundation because I knew it would be affordable but still deliver amazing results.

Dragonfly Tea Masterclass

When I was feeling rundown and full of cold, an invite to a tea masterclass with Dragonfly Tea seemed like the perfect cure! The event was in celebration of Dragonfly Tea's 15th birthday and the launch of their new Tea House collection.

Paul & Joe Autumn 2016 Launches

Paul & Joe Autumn 2016

I have to admit, when Autumn came around I wasn't impressed. So many people were Tweeting about how they were excited to start sipping pumpkin lattes, whip out their scarves and boots and start wearing berry lips, while I sat there, miserable, cold and still in denial that summer is over. But after finally accepting that Autumn is here I am actually pretty excited because there are so many amazing new beauty launches at the moment with the change in seasons!

Just one of the collections I'm loving at the moment is the new Autumn range from Paul & Joe. I am already a huge fan of Paul & Joe's packaging - you can mix and match different cases for lipsticks and powders and their foundation bottles look beautiful on dressing tables - and the products don't disappoint either.

Small Changes You Can Make for a Healthier Lifestyle

So let's face it, Winter is pretty much here. Summer is over and so is my summer body, if I ever had one to begin with. It's cold, we all feel like crap and all we want to do is hideaway under a blanket until the sun returns. But deep down I know that doing that will make me feel worse, so instead I'm trying to take baby steps to be healthy, positive and get some happy endorphins flowing.

By no means am I a health expert or someone that spends hours at the gym each day or cuts out gluten, dairy, meat, sugar or any kind of other fun stuff from my diet. I've been lucky to get away with being naturally slim my whole life so I never saw the point in making an effort to eat healthy or exercise - why eat a carrot instead of a chocolate bar when chocolate won't make any difference to my weight?- but then I recently realised how unhealthy I was starting to become. Firstly, my skin was terrible, I was constantly bloated because of my poor diet and I could rarely concentrate at work and felt sluggish during the day. Changing this didn't mean a complete overhaul of my lifestyle, but just small tweaks that had a great effect in the long run...

Get Moving

Exercise doesn't have to be scary and it certainly doesn't have to be something you perceive negatively. Find something you enjoy and stick with it. I prefer working out in groups for motivation and encouragement, which is why I love the WeTrain sessions in London. I've also recently joined The Castle Centre gym, part of Everyone Active, and attend their group fitness classes after work.

If you can't afford a gym membership or find it difficult to slot in classes with your schedule, the best thing you can do is put on your trainers and go outside. Some people hate the idea of running but you don't need to push yourself - just go for a walk and maybe even break out into a jog. I enjoy running but would never class myself as a "runner". Nevertheless, don't be put off by anyone else. I run a few times a week and go entirely at a slow pace but you always feel a million times better for it afterwards.

I also find the best motivation is to set yourself a challenge or sign up to something in the near future and work your way up to it. Next year I will be running the London Winter Run 10k in February. I haven't run a 10k in a LONG time, but knowing I will have to do it in a matter of months is giving me the motivation I need to start preparing for it.

As part of my preparations I will be attending a run club led by fellow blogger Elle from Keep it SimpElle (you can find out all about the running club here). If you fancy entering the London Winter Run, there will be opportunities to win a space during the run club or if you sign up directly you can get £3 off with the discount code SIMPELLE3

Swap snacks and up the Veggie intake

One of the simplest moves you can make to your diet is to add more vegetables. I recently went to a walk with nutritionist Alice Mackintosh who said your plate should usually be about half vegetables. Even buying bags of frozen peas and peppers and throwing them into my chilli or spag bol when I'm cooking is a great way to get an extra portion of veg.

I love to make smoothies first thing in the morning and you only need a small amount of ingredients for a delicious and healthy smoothie. My favourite is spinach, banana and coconut water. Instead of buying fresh coconut water I recently tried out Coco Minerals from Proto-Col, a powder form of the coconut water drink. It is packed full of vitamins and minerals and you just add a scoop to water to make a rehydrating drink. It is a much cheaper alternative than buying regular coconut water!

Proto-Col also have a supplement called Green Magic which is a powdered fusion of natural super foods, providing you with the nutritional equivalent of seven portions of fruit & veg.

Kick the bad habits

While it's good to treat ourselves once in a while and have 'cheat' meals, it's also important to look at where our bad health habits lie and try to cut them out. Eat chocolate every day? Try to cut it down to a couple of times a week? Rarely cook and opt for takeaways and ready meals? Start planning your meals for the week and set aside time to bulk-cook and prep your meals in advance. Are you a smoker? Try to kick the habit. There is plenty of support available and while you are in the process of giving up a lot of people find vaping is an alternative that helps them to quit. Vapelux is a site to buy e liquids online uk.

An evening of productivity with Powwownow and Alice Mackintosh

As a typical 20-something I find most of my days are spent trying to juggle my full-time job, writing my blog and having a social life while still managing to find the time to look after myself and eat healthily.

Which is why the conference calling service Powwownow, who promote flexible working and being productive in any surrounding, invited me along to an event with nutritionist Alice Mackintosh last month to find out all about the best brain-boosting foods to help provide extra energy and nutrients.

Alice, who is from The Food Doctor Clinic, talked us through some of her top recommendations on what to eat to improve memory and stay alert, focused and energised - something I definitely need when I spend the majority of my day in an office and am prone to getting that 4pm (*ahem* 11am) slump.

Some of Alice's top tips included:

  • Keep your energy balanced by eating three meals a day and never skip breakfast. Watch out for sugary breakfasts and opt for porridge / overnight oats, granola, salmon or eggs instead
  • In terms of carbs, choose wholegrain over white carbs wherever possible and ensure that carbs only take up a quarter of your plate. The rest should be protein and veggies!
  • Get your sugar balance right. Sugar spikes your blood sugar levels which can cause energy and concentration to dip.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Squash and flavoured waters don't count! Coffee can stimulate the mind but will heavily impact blood sugar so replace with matcha or green tea.
After Alice's talk we then tucked into some delicious food and had a chance to mingle with fellow bloggers. I met the lovely Sarah, Monica and Tanya and had a great time chatting away to them! We were then very kindly given goodie bags full of treats to help us boost our productivity levels - I had a notebook for all my planning and organisation, some little chocolatey nibbles, a great book by Grace Marshall called 21 Ways to Manage the Stuff that Sucks Up Your Time and a sample of  Equi Fundamental, a powder supplement for energy and wellbeing. It contains green tea as well hormone balancing and energising superfoods. I can't wait to add it to my morning smoothies!

Thank you Powwownow for a great night and to Alice for sharing your tips! You can read more of her tips here.

The Fullest Coverage Foundation You Will Ever Use!

Until I had my makeup done at the Rodial counter in Harvey Nichols earlier this summer, I had never tried anything from their makeup range. Rodial is best known for its skincare collections, however, I was soon converted and fell in love with practically everything on the makeup counter! One product in particular I was drawn to was the AirBrush Make-Up Foundation.

I always thought MAC Studio Sculpt was the fullest coverage foundation I'd used (although I was never a fan of the strange chemical / wallpaper paste smell...)  until I'd discovered this little gem from Rodial!

Spa Experience Old Street Review

Photos: Spa Experience

A few months back I went to Spa Experience's relaunch event and was very kindly given a voucher for a free treatment at one of their many salons in my goodie bag! After having a manic few months afterwards and moving house twice it completely slipped my mind, so when I rediscovered the voucher in one of my drawers it seemed the perfect time to get a massage (lots of stress from moving = lots of tension in my shoulders!)

I chose the Experience Back, Face and Scalp Massage at the Old Street branch in Ironmonger Row Baths, Islington. On the day I accidentally ended up taking the wrong route on the tube so I turned up 20 minutes late in a complete sweaty, flustered mess (not ideal when you're just about to have a massage) but my therapist was so welcoming and understanding she completely put my mind at rest and I instantly felt relaxed when I stepped into my treatment room.

On arrival I was given a glass of orange juice, which was very much needed, and then the therapist got to work getting rid of all my aches and knots! Unsurprisingly, as soon as she touched my shoulders she commented on how tense they were. I know I am guilty of having bad posture and my shoulders often get tight so there is a lot of work needed on them and she completely eased out all the tension in my back, while still managing to keep the massage relaxing and comfortable.

Like most people my 9-5 is very busy and I am often at events in the evening so I rarely get time to myself to switch off so it felt amazing to just lie down and do nothing for a while and for the first time in ages I actually managed to completely switch off my mind!

After working on my back, neck and shoulders I then had a face and scalp massage, which was ultra relaxing. If you go for this treatment I would recommend going makeup free as I found it a little odd having oil applied to my face on top of my day-old makeup as I had just come straight from work, but luckily I haven't had any breakouts from it since.

Once my treatment had finished I was then brought a cup of orange sorbet to 'cleanse the pallet', which was such a nice surprise. I was given the option to use the sauna and thermal spa afterwards but unfortunately had forgotten to bring my swimsuit with me - so much sure you take one along and make full use of the facilities.

I left the spa feeling 100 times calmer, soothed and more relaxed and felt like I was walking on a fluffy cloud as I made my way back home.

Spa Experience was previously known as Spa London but rebranded earlier this year, mainly to refleft the fact it is no longer just in London. It is part of Better Gyms so is based on the concept of making day spas accessible and affordable for everyone, while still remaining luxurious - something I'm a big supporter of! Spa Experience has branches across the country with six in London and others in Hertforshire, Surrey and Somerset. They have a range of treatments including massages, hammam scrubs, tanning, waxing, manicures & pedicures and even prenatal and men's treatment so there truly is something for everyone.

A huge thank you to the Spa Experience team for a wonderful massage - I can't wait to rebook!

September Favourites

Oh gaad, September is over! Autumn is here! While most people are probably outside embracing the "fresh" chill in the air in their berry lips and sipping on pumpkin lattes I on the other hand will most probably be hibernating under a duvet for the foreseeable future until summer returns.

With the changes in the weather, my makeup and skincare also changes as my skin needs a lot more moisture. Some of my favourites this month include...

Bath & Body Works A Thousand Wishes Body Cream - This strawberry & champagne scented body cream was a gift from my sister from America! I've never had any Bath & Body Works products before or anything exclusively from America so I was very excited when she brought it back for me. The scent is so strong on this I usually just wear the body cream in place of a perfume or body spray.

Rosie for Autograph Lip Glossy - Developed by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the style of the Rosie for Autograph at M&S collection really reminds me of Charlotte Tilbury packaging - but with a much more affordable price tag! The entire collection is very elegant and I love this sheer, subtle lip pencil for daytime wear.

The Body Shop Down to Earth Eyeshadow Quad - These palettes were launched earlier in the summer and come in five different colour combinations. I chose this neutral grey palette to be used when creating a smokey eye. The pink shimmery shade is also perfect for highlighting the brow bone.

Soap & Glory Body Mist - The original fruity and floral Soap & Glory scent is one of my all-time favourites so I love having it in a handy body spray! I bought it as a set of three containing Mist You Madly, Original Pink and Fruitigo so I leave one in my handbag, one in my bedroom and one in my office drawer so I can smell delicious throughout the day!

Spectrum A01 Brush Up Powder Brush - I am so in love with Spectrum makeup brushes and wish I could get all their collections! If you haven't checked them out yet there are ranges of unicorn-inspired brushes, classic white handled and mermaid-esque styles too.

La Roche Posay Pigmentclar Eyes - An eye cream and a corrector in one, this eye product really reminds me of the Benefit 'Puff Off' eye gel as it has the same metal, slanted applicator for easy application to the eye contour area. It cools and soothes the skin around the eyes as well as brightening to help reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffy bags.

Rodial Airbrush Concealer - The concealer of all concealers, this little compact is a game changer and is above anything I have tried before. The sleek packaging comes with a mirror so it is ideal for on the go coverage. It is highly pigmented and is more like a camouflage.

Max Factor Miracle Touch Foundation - I usually opt for a high-coverage foundation with a matte finish so this foundation was a little different for me but I am so surprised at how much it transformed my skin. This compact comes with a sponge and has a solid to liquid formula to give an even glow quickly and easily. Just one swipe with the sponge makes my skin look flawless! The only negative for me is that you only get 11g of product for £12.99 so it runs out quite quickly!

Caudalie Glycolic Peel Mask - For an instant radiance boost this mask is ideal for anyone with dull or tired skin. While it isn't actually a peeling mask, it works like a scrub for a new skin effect.

Rodial Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Moisturiser - My skin has become extremely dehydrated recently and no matter how much water I guzzle down my face is still starting to suffer! This moisturiser protects and plumps skin while shielding against environmental damage.

#AsicsSecretGig with JD Sports

Last week I was invited along to a secret gig with JD Sports and ASICS to celebrate the launch of ASICS' new Chameleoid pack. Being the most over-organised person in the world I didn't know what to expect when I headed along to the secret location (revealed on the day of the event as Mangle nightclub in London Fields) without a clue as to what the night had in store or who would be performing!

I met up with Kassie and Katie beforehand and we headed over to the venue, which had been kitted out with amazing lighting, an Asics stage and a timeline of Asics' history. We headed straight for the food and munched on some delicious dumplings then obviously had to make a trip to the photobooth. Then of course I couldn't wait to check out the exciting new trainers!

We met the lovely Haydy, who was there with her boyfriend, and bumped into Elle too. Soon enough it was time for the secret performers to be revealed. The night was hosted by BBC 1Xtra DJ Sian Anderson and saw the likes of Melody Kane and Logan Sama Djing, followed by a performance from grime artist AJ Tracey. Unfortunately I had to head off before the secret artist was revealed - Giggs - but I followed the action live from Twitter and Instagram as I made my way home on the train and the venue was packed out. I felt slightly uncool tucking myself up in bed while everyone was still out partying but it was by the most different Wednesday night I've had in a long time!

I was lucky enough to get a pair of the new Chameleon trainers, which are part of the Gel-Lyte range. The trainers have a new two tone upper mesh which makes the shoe appear to change colour when you move - super cool! They are also made with Asics Gel technology so are soo comfortable to walk in and support my feet.

Thank you JD Sports for an amazing evening!

Glossybox September 2016

Glossybox September 2016

Glossybox September 2016

I have never bought a Glossybox before as my beauty box of choice is usually Latest in Beauty, but after seeing many good reviews and following them on Twitter I decided I had to make a purchase after sneak previews of the special edition September box kept popping up on my social media feed! This month's box was created in collaboration with the Editor of Red magazine, hence it being a bright shade of red.

There was a sneak preview of one of the items in the box - Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, which everyone raves about, so I really wanted to try that out and see what else was inside...

Happy Mexican Independence Day!

Today is Mexican Independence Day, a time for Mexicans to enjoy a fun-filled fiesta packed with fantastic food, music, family and friends.

Mexican cuisine is one of my favourites and next year I will be visiting Mexico for a friend's wedding - so what better way to prepare then with some delicious tacos for dinner!

Santa Maria has very kindly gifted me with some delicious ingredients to make simple and speedy recipes to get into the Mexican spirit! Their range includes fajita seasoning mix, pulled pork dinner kits, taco seasoning mix and more!

The kits make it so easy to add Mexican spices to meat, veg or fish. My favourite is the taco seasoning mix, which combines chilli, cumin and oregano, specially blended to mix with mince. It instantly adds flavour and can be topped up with feta and guacamole.

I can't wait to tuck in to these delicious dishes and get in the Mexican mood!

5 Skincare Items I Couldn’t Be Without - Rhian Westbury

As you may or may not know I am currently on holiday in Cuba! So today's post is from Rhian Westbury all about her holy grail skincare items - a lot of these are favourites of mine too! A huge thank you to Rhian for guest posting for me, be sure to check out her blog!

I am the first the admit that my skincare routine has a lot to be desired. One day I will manage the full works and my skin will look great and then a few days later I’ll get lazy and I’m lucky if I moisturise. There are a few items though that I could not be without for skin pick me ups.

Garnier Micellar Water
This is like a girls best friend and I am yet to find another micellar water which works as well as this (even the more expensive ones). Admittedly I wear quite a lot of makeup on a daily basis and this is the only thing I can find which makes me feel like my skin is clear and makeup free. When I used to use wipes or other forms of makeup remover I’d wake up in the morning with makeup under my eyes as it hadn’t come off properly. Plus it’s great value for money as a large bottle lasts quite a long time.

Pixi Glow Tonic
Exfoliation isn’t something which I remember to do on a daily basis because I’m far too lazy but when ever I used this glow tonic I find that my skin looks clearer and does actually glow. I have quite sensitive skin and this isn’t harsh and unlike some other exfoliation waters it doesn’t dry out my skin.

Lush Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub
Ever since I bought my first tub of this a year or so ago I have replaced this so many times as it does wonders for my skin. I don’t find exfoliation scrubs tend to be that great but this ocean salt version from Lush is harsh enough on my skin for it to feel like I’m getting rid of the inpurities but not so much that my skin looks red and raw afterwards. Because it is a little harsher than other products you can only use it about once a week which is great for me as I use it when I have a bit more time at the weekend.

Lush Mask of Magnaminty
I am a sucker for anything with a mint scent and this face and body mask is amazing as the scent is so strong that it makes me want to wear it without being too overpowering. I do love sheet masks and quite fixes but I always find my skin feels fresher, clearer and cleaner when I use a proper mask. This doesn’t set too hard which means it doesn’t crack too much when I try to speak or have a drink and it comes off reasonably easy so there’s no scrubbing.

Belif Aqua Bomb Moisturiser
I have reasonably dry skin so always find it hard to get a moisturiser which has quite enough moisture within it to stop the dry patches on my face. Since using this reasonably regularly the dry patches predominately around my nose have all but disappeared and my skin feels a lot smoother and less grey than it did before I started using it. I bought this from Sephora in the US so I’m hoping it isn’t too hard to get over here when it comes to replacing it.
